SACP still maintains its call for Zuma to step down

Mhlekwa Nxumalo, Acting Spokesperson and National Organiser at the South African Communist Party (SACP) says they 'okay' with the results of the motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma.

He adds that the SACP still maintains its call for Zuma to step down.

This was not in support of Zuma but in support of the ANC.

Nxumalo says SACP members who are also part of the African National Congress (ANC) cannot be isolated from the rest of the ANC members of parliament.

Nxumalo explains that the SACP has called for an urgent alliance political council to discuss and resolve a way forward and Zuma's resignation.
