Redi Tlhabi pays Afternoon Drive host Bongani Bingwa a visit this Women's Day

Former 702 anchor, Redi Tlhabi paid Afternoon Drive host, Bongani Bingwa a visit.

Tlhabi says one of the perceptions she'd like to debunk is that she never discusses politics all the time. I don't always want to politics adds Tlhabi.

Tlhabi also says she is the fiercest protector of Nkosazana Dlamini-Dlamini's identity in politics despite not agreeing with her ideologies.

Reducing her identity to just being Jacob Zuma's ex wife is a point of erasure. She has earned her stripes.

Women's day doesn't mean what it should mean says Tlhabi. She goes on to say that it should be an occasion to celebrate and reflect, with optimism what women in South Africa have achieved.

We can't do that because we live in a very sexist and misogynistic society. I can't do the because the people who make the speeches on Women's Day themselves do not understand gender theory and the reality of being disempowered and poor in South Africa.
