EWN reporter, Barry Bateman says more people have come forward to given witness testimony in the Ahmed Timol inquest.
These new witnesses were screened over the weekend. However, it has emerged that the value of their testimonies is less than the NPA has hoped for.
He says the National Prosecuting Authority will, therefore, be issuing subpoenas on Monday ordering more people to appear in court.
We aren't told formally who those people are but we are aware that they former security police officers.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
Timols' nephew Imtiaz Ahmed Cajee gave a very emotional testimony in court on Monday, according to Bateman.
Cajee recalled learning of his uncle's disappearance and later discovering that he had died. He says he has spent his lifetime trying to figure out exactly what happened.
He recalled as a youngster collecting as many newspaper clippings as he can gathering information to answer his questions.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
