Snow turns parts of SA into winter wonderland

Parts of the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape and Western Cape are covered in snow as a strong cold front sweeps through South Africa.

Snow SA founder Rob Ansell says KwaZulu-Natal is also bracing for snowfall this morning.

The Western Cape was largesly affected by the front on Wednesday, while the system has moved further north now.

In Gauteng, temperatures will rise to the early to mid-teens this afternoon with single-digit overnight lows expected.

Ansell has bad news for snow chasers.

The Eastern Cape is fairly inaccessible at the moment. A number of passes are closed.
