Former US Presidents take a swipe at Trump over Charlottesville

On Wednesday evening, former Republican presidents father and son, George Herbert Walker Bush and George W. Bush issued a joint statement in the aftermath of the racist violence by neo-nazis in Charlottesville over the weekend.

In their statement, they say that America must always reject racial bigotry, anti-Semitism and hatred in all its forms and that they consider it to be self-evident that everyone is created equal.

Brookes Spector, US Foreign Policy Expert says even though the statement did not mention United States President, Donald Trump by name, it does apply to him.

George. H and George W. Bush join an increasingly long queue of people condemning the violence and racism that drove it and taking a slap at Trump for managing to equate racism to the people protesting it.

If anything, he has lost the moral high ground, if ever had it. Even historians are chipping in with this.
