"I bumped into Anoj Singh and Eskom's Prish Govender at the Hyde Park Hotel"

According to reports, five senior managers at Eskom could be suspended as the investigation into money paid to Trillian Investments and the consultants Mckinsey continues.

Deputy editor for Financial Mail, Sikhonathi Mantshantsha, says twenty people were interviewed on this matter and seven 'are in hot water' including the two that are already suspended - chief financial officer Anoj Singh and Eskom CEO Matshela Koko.

The story is really rolling and an ongoing circus.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

Some of the people who were suspended on Monday, I am reliably informed that today they are back at work and the investigation has been stopped by the current board and people in governance committee.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

Mantshantsha suggests that the people who had been appointed to the interim board are trying to stop the investigations of corruption within the power utility.

They are trying to stop the investigation and suppress any attempt to fix Eskom.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

He says he bumped into Anoj Singh and Prish Governdor at Hyde Park Hotel having a serious conversation. They did not even notice me, says Mantshantsha.

My understanding is that Anoj Singh is on suspension, therefore should not be talking to Eskom employees. Prish Govender as head of capital at Eskom is the person that's been trying to avoid his own suspension and was off sick yesterday.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

When I bumped into them I actually gave them a call and asked them what are you guys discussing. Prish Governdor denied being at Hyde Park Hotel despite me having seen them with my own naked eyes and a few minutes later Singh admitted that he had just met him and it is non of my business what they were discussing

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)
