Vodacom to reimburse customers by end of the morning

As if dealing with high data costs isn’t painful enough, Vodacom customers now have to contend with disappearing data.

Thousands of angry users saw data bundles and airtime disappear before their eyes overnight.

Vodacom spokesperson Byron Kennedy says the problem was caused by a configuration change on their billing system.

We’ve rolled back that process to remedy the problem.

He says the company as a result had an airtime and data issue.

What we’re doing during the course of this morning and what our technicians are working hard on is to make sure all of our customers are reimbursed.

Kennedy says out-of-bundle charges will also be refunded and depleted data bundles will be reinstated.

This was a mistake and what’s important and what we’re focused on is making sure that our customer are reimbursed as quickly as possible.
