Vodacom customers weigh in on disappearing data

Vodcom customers were enraged when their data disappeared overnight. This was apparently caused by a problematic configuration of the service providers billing system.

Vodacom spokesperson Byron Kennedy says that they will reimburse people fully, but some feel that this incident is indicative of a bigger problem with Vodacom.

During an open line on the Eusebius Mckaiser show, Vodacom customers shared their thoughts on Vodacom's disappearing data.

I monitor my usage on a monthly basis, because their out-of-bundle and free calls come into effect after a certain point. I have always doubted the validity of my billing, and several times I had to question it and be credited with a refund.

Kirk, Vodacom Customer

I get about 20G of data on a monthly basis. I'm not on any main stream social media that would consume too much data. but 20 G does not last me a month. It's gone before the month ends. I have to add another 8G which costs me money.

Jay, Vodacom Customer

Other topics that were discussed the Open line was the sale of ANN7 and the New Age to Mzwanele "Jimmy" Manyi.
