Africa Report: Nigeria releases its first ever corruption survey

Crystal Orderson reports that millions of Angolans will cast their votes on Wednesday in the country's general elections which will see 74-year-old Eduardo Do Santos who has ruled for 38 years leaves office.

She adds that these elections are historically significant and that 9.3 million people have registered to vote with close to 13 000 voting station across the country.

She explains that electoral commission will have fifteen days to announce the final results. Orderson believes the elections will run smoothly.

The Congo Republic president has re-appointed the Prime Minister after his resignation last week.

He resigned with his entire cabinet last week. The economic situation has led to all of this.

More importantly, they lied to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about the extent of their debt says Orderson.

Nigeria’s National Judicial Council says the country's first ever corruption survey, which shows how corrupt officials are, is untrue. She adds that officials are unhappy with the survey.

4.6 billion dollars is lost to corruption and on average a Nigerian pays one bribe every two months.
