Manyi: Is it because I am black?

The new owner of ANN7 and TNA Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi asked, "Is it because I'm black?" when journalists asked him about the shareholder register of the company Lodidox, which he recently bought.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor Financial Mail says the primary South African law allows anyone to ask for that company information.

Section 26 of the companies Act of 2008 says anyone can get a shelf certificate if they ask for it ...and it must be produced within 14 days.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

He has 14 days to comply with that or we will take the matter further in terms of the law. We just want to see who owns that company called Lodidox.

Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Deputy Editor at FM (Financial Mail)

Mantshantsha says Manyi held his first meeting at ANN7 and the staff asked him where he had obtained the money to buy the company.

His answer was that his company has been saving a lot of money, says Mantshantsha.
