Joziburg is home to cool creatives

Rhodé Marshall, a freelance culture and entertainment writer, takes us into Johannesburg’s freshest new venue, Joziburg.

What a blessing to this beautiful city... Johannesburg has a fresh new venue called Joziburg at No. One Eloff Street. The visionary complex for fun, food, film, exhibitions and rooftop parties is the eye-catching blue and turquoise block on the corner of downtown Jozi.

Joziburg is already home to cool creatives that live in its loft style apartments. Owned by Molten Black, it’s a field of colours, freedom, and expression with an aim to become an aspirational living, working, entertainment and shopping community by and for the inner city urban dweller.

Whilst enjoying the film, food, exhibitions, talks, and parties at Joziburg, check out the office and shop space available for rent. Bag Alley is an exploration and combination of informal street trader style stores that’s a supportive platform for entrepreneurs to get to grips with retail in a cost-effective and stimulating atmosphere.

Known as a rainbow building, No. One Eloff with its loft style apartments is tailor-made for young professionals and those who enjoy an abundance of food, shopping, and entertainment within their living space.

It's a community where creativity soars and actors, musicians, fashion brand owners and the like call home.

If you're looking to move into the building, a one bedroom goes from R3 675 p/m and two bedroom from R3 990.

According to South African History Online, this space once belonged to a shoe merchant who opened his store in the late 1800s and became a prominent retailer in the mining district. It was declared a National Monument in the late 80s.
