Very little will happen unless there is mass mobilisation - Brown

While the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) wants the Constitutional Court to determine whether President Jacob Zuma’s conduct is impeachable, the Demcortaic Alliance's (DA) call for early elections garnered little support.

A motion to dissolve Parliament failed in the National Assembly on Tuesday evening.

Political analyst Karima Brown says the culmination of efforts inside and outside of Parliament to remove Zuma from his seat points to a litany of failures by the President.

When these debates happen,what is happening is of course is the litany of failures of the President consistently pointed out.

But yesterday (Tuesday) also showed us the difficulty that the opposition has in uniting around common strategies.

Brown says the opposition may have to push for civil mass action.

Unless those in parliament are in fact joined by people on the streets through mass action and mobilisation, very little is going to happen.
