There has been much speculation in recent times about whether Dr Zweli Mkhize, current ANC treasurer general would run for president of the party come December.
Until now the man who is regarded by some as a potential 'compromise candidate' has played it safe saying he would wait for the right time to declare his intentions.
EWN reporter Clement Manyathela interviewed Mkhize on Wednesday and says the TG seems to be changing his tune.
He is saying now he is ready to serve. He says he wants to serve in the leadership structure of the ANC.

I pushed him on what position he is eyeing, and he said, I am ready to serve and accept the nomination on the position I am nominated for.

Manyathela pointed out to him that certain regions have nominated him for president.
He said he is ready and willing to accept that nomination for ANC president.

When asked about what his priorities would be if he was to be elected as president, he said among them would be uniting the organsiation, strengthening governance and rooting out corruption.
