Ramaphosa receives applause from ANC benches after apologising for scandal

Deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa answered questions in the National Assembly on Wednesday afternoon.

The scheduled oral reply session comes just days after a Sunday newspaper published claims that Ramaphosa has had affairs with several women.

EWN Reporter, Gaye Davis says Ramaphosa addressed Members of Parliament, about the claims of his alleged extramarital affairs, saying he would address the allegations in detail in a day or two.

Davis says Ramaphosa received applause from the African National Congress (ANC) benches.

Ramaphosa said he was prepared to take accountability.

Ramaphosa was asked about the diplomatic immunity granted to Zimbabwean first lady, Grace Mugabe after she was charged with assault. International Relations and Cooperation Minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane is refusing to appear before Parliament to answer questions on this matter, says Davis

We heard that she won't be in Parliament on Thursday when the police and security cluster ministers will be here. We heard that she will be in Vietnam.

She's very seldom in the House to account says Davis explaining that there is some degree of anger from MPs that she will again escape their attempt to hold her accountable.

The deputy president in the house this afternoon said the matter is before the portfolio committee on international relations.
