Why former Eskom executive Anoj Singh hasn’t been arrested or investigated by the Hawks when there is such compelling evidence against him is baffling, political analyst Karima Brown says.
She says an article released on Wednesday, compiled by Daily Maverick and amaBhungane, is very detailed and granular.
What we see here is one amount [of money] being traced from one bank to the other.— Karima Brown, political analyst
Brown says Singh is no stranger to controversy and he is yet to provide a list of so-called favours after being confronted by journalists.
He was confronted by various journalists and he told us he’s never taken a bribe in his life and of course, yesterday’s story makes a complete lie of all of that, if you look at the extent towards which he has benefitted.— Karima Brown, political analyst
She says what she finds very interesting is the correlation from the time he goes from Transnet to Eskom and how systematically the Gupta-linked companies in fact benefitted.
What we need now from the law enforcement authorities is - if [NPA boss] Shaun Abrahams want us to take him seriously and if the Hawks want that too - Anoj Singh should at very least be arrested.— Karima Brown, political analyst
