If your car tyres are older than four years then they have expired

A lot of people don't know that car tyres have expiry dates says car guy, Phakamile Mzimela.

He explains to 702 host, Phemelo Motene that cars generally expire after four years. Another thing people don't also realise is that tyres are graded adds Mzimela.

Some tyres are graded to over or under 180 and over 250 speeds. So people don't know that.

Mzimela warns that when purchasing tyres without knowing their speed limit may lead you into trouble and cause a tyre burst. He says no matter how technologically advanced your car is, that technology, relies heavily on your tyres.

When a car is released, it is sold with a tyre that is suited and designed for that particular car.

The tyres sold on the side of the street are the worst kind of tyres warns Mzimela. He goes on say those are tyres sold with evenly worn threads. Mzimela says you will experience a tyre burst if you use the rethreaded tyres for longer than you should.
