The Moerane commission of inquiry commenced today, seeking to find out the reason why so may political killings haves occurred in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
EWN Reporter, Ziyanda Ngcobo says that the commission heard from an ANC councillor from the uPhongolo municipality. He was questioned about the death of fellow ANC Councillor Mbhekiseni Khumalo last December.
Ngcobo says the councillor was asked why he believes Khumalo was killed and what the underlying cause of the killings are. He stated that Khumalo was elected for a second term, and some party members were not happy about it.
He highlighted how factionalism could be behind the murder of Khumalo.— Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN Reporter
