Members of the Right to Know Campaign (R2K) are protesting outside the offices of four major network providers in Gauteng.
The group is demanding that action is taken to ensure the cost of data and airtime is affordable to South Africans.
These are follow-up actions after service providers failed to act on demands that have been continuously presented to them since R2K initiated the campaign against the high cost of communications in 2013.
The organisation's Biko Mutsaurwa says, to date, none of the demands have been met.
None of the demands that we have been calling for over the last four years have been met by telecommunications companies, this is testimony of the stubbornness and arrogance that comes from them...— Biko Mutsaurwa, spokesperson
They have been taking the memorandum, which is what they have been doing over the last years, the problem comes when it is time to respond or time to enforce the demands. We are going to continue these actions.— Biko Mutsaurwa, spokesperson
