Maryana Iskander is the Chief Executive Officer at Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator.

Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator is a non-profit company that partners with South African employers to source, place and successfully retain young, first-time work seekers.

Before joining Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator Iskander was the COO of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America where she still serves on the board of directors.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Iskander for his “ShapeShifter” feature.

There’s not enough jobs, but there are jobs.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

I get a daily email telling me how many people we’ve placed in jobs.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

If you cannot see the impact of what you’re doing it’s hard to keep doing it.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

We have mock interviews…

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

I think there are many good and honest people in Government.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

We’re interested in talking to employers of any size.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator

We have to grow our way out of this problem.

Maryana Iskander, Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator
