The price of petrol will rise by between 25 and 29 cents a litre at 12:00am on Wednesday (4 October).
Diesel will cost 42 cents per litre more while the illuminating paraffin price will go up by 39 cents a litre.
The cost of LP gas will rise by 39 cents per kilogram.
The department says the average international product prices of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin increased during the period under review.
The rand appreciated against the US dollar during the period under review, on average, when compared to the previous period.
The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period 1 September 2017 to 28 September 2017 was 13.1317 compared to 13.2152 during the previous period.
This led to a lower contribution to the basic fuels price on petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin by 3.86c/l, 3.78c/l and 3.76c/l respectively.
