Mzansigirl takes listeners on a trip to the majestic Victoria Falls

Meruschka Govender founder of Mzansigirl travel blog is an African travel activist, experience seeker, and tourism thinker.

Govender shared her 'What to do in Victoria Falls' recommendations with 702 stand-in host, Aki Anastasiou, and listeners. You need to take your brave heart with you says Govender.

Its definitely a bucket-list item. Whether you’re looking for an adrenalin rush, a couple’s getaway or just to marvel at one of the world’s seven natural wonders, Vic Falls is a music visit destination

Govender says what she loves about Vic Falls is its close proximity to South Africa and accessibility with daily flights into the newly built Vic Falls airport or to Livingstone in Zambia.

She adds that a trip to the falls is easy and can be done in a weekend that doesn’t require too much planning. It makes for a great weekend to surprise your partner but also works well for families too, she adds. And no visas are required for South Africans.

I skipped the bungee on my last visit to Vic Falls and decided to do the white water rafting instead. I rafted with Safpar and was super impressed by their professional guides and attention to safety. I've been rafting a few times but the views from the Zambezi of the Batoka gorge are incredible, never mind the adrenalin rush and the wildlife spotted!

For the ultimate photo opportunity, a helicopter flip or microlight flight over the falls will give you the best views from every angle. A lot less scary than bungee jumping, the helicopter swoops over the Zambezi and hovers over the falls for perfect views of the largest curtain of falling water in the world.
