SAA Acting CEO confident unions will accept offer to avoid strike action

On Tuesday, the South African Airways (SAA) warned that its operations may be disrupted after one of the labour unions served the embattled airline with a notice of intention to embark on industrial action at its aircraft maintenance unit.

SAA Acting CEO Musa Zwanesays he has been engaging with workers over the past week and on Wednesday a decision was reached with the union agreeing to consider the airline's offer.

I am confident the strike will be avoided and we do have contingency plans.
