Sisulu slams Zwane's comments that Presidential race a foregone conclusion

The 7 candidates in the running for President will over the next few weeks discuss their campaign aspirations with political analyst and journalist, Karima Brown. The first candidate to do so on Wednesday night was Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu. Sisulu was very open about running despite the culture of the ANC that encourages members to wait for nomination, rather than put their hands up. The other candidates include Cyril Ramaphosa, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Mathews Phosa, Zweli Mkhize, Baleka Mbete and Jeff Radebe.

She made it very, very clear that she is not in the race as anyone's deputy. As you known many analysts, political journalists said she should be considered as a female deputy. She was unequivocal she is a Presidential candidate and is running her campaign as such.

Sisulu also didn't mince her words when she criticised Minerals Minister Mosibenzi Zwane.

She slammed Mosibenzi Zwane for trying to foretell the outcome of elections. He said it's a done deal and everyone knows who is going to win.

Sisulu said she would be writing to Zwane to express her disappointment at his remarks

If you look at the fact that 7 candidates (are in the running) this shows how divided the ANC is. It's going to be interesting horse-trading. Lindiwe Sisulu is someone to watch and will be in the Top Six one way or the other.
