Happy World Teachers Day: Minister Motshekga says parental involvement is key

Thursday, 5 October is World Teachers' Day.

Angie Motshekga, National Minister Of Basic Education tells The Midday Report stand-in host Ray White that although teaching has changed drastically in the past decade and has become challenging she is pleasantly surprised that more younger people are choosing it as a career choice.

Motshekga goes on to say that in schools that do well, parents are found to play an active role in their children's education. They are involved in school matters as well as governing bodies that do their best to ensure schools are run efficiently.
