Words you will hear today: Journalistic gymnastics (Mbalula)

An Eyewitness News report has established that a sporting goods supplier allegedly paid at least R300 000 – and possibly as much as R680 000 for a trip to Dubai for Minister Fikile Mbalula and his family in 2016.

This is apparently a conflict of interest as Mbalula was Sports Minister at the time, while the company involved was doing business with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc).

Mbalula has neither denied or confirmed the payments, saying it's an invasion of his privacy.
