SA's Kim Engelbrecht speaks about her role on The Flash

Kim Engelbrecht has landed a role in the American superhero series, "The Flash" as The Mechanic.

South African actress Kim Engelbrecht has received support from other local actresses making it big in the United States. This after she landed a role in the American superhero series, "The Flash", as The Mechanic.

Engelbrecht played a character know as Lolly on SABC 3's Isidingo before she tried going international.

She speaks to CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies about growing up in Belhar and her acting career which started at the age of 12, supported by her parents.

For the past seven months Engelbrecht says she is being travelling in and out of America doing auditions until she got herself a role on The Flash.

About a year ago my manager and I went to the States to try and find an American manager. I was doing trips in and out of America to try and secure that and once I did I started doing auditions. Some of them have went further to getting call backs.

She says that she received a lot of support from other South Africans who are now living in America and making it big like Pearl Thusi, Terry Pheto and others.
