Math is important because it’s a skill of life. Everything you do is connected to mathematics. It’s the discipline of nature. Understanding maths makes you a better person in terms of how you solve problems. You cannot get away from it.

Sharanjeet Shan

I’m not a mathematician; I’m merely a humble teacher. But I love the idea of how mathematics is in everything!

Sharanjeet Shan

Our schools aren’t operating as a unit that empowers children and teachers. Why is South Africa so bad at maths? At Maths Centre we try to address this issue in three steps.

Sharanjeet Shan

A child doesn’t suddenly talk at 14. We must focus on mathematical awareness from a very young age. Maths Centre runs programs with parents called ‘Parents Count’ and ‘Parents Matter’. It’s about honouring and respecting the child.
