Entrepreneur Inga Gubeka is the founder of new contemporary lifestyle brand Inga Atelier.

Inga Atelier makes unique wooden and leather bags, fusing technology with wooden and leather accessories.

Gubeka was born in Ngqeleni, in the Eastern Cape and and moved to Durban were he studied design at Durban University of Technology (DUT).

He later moved to study at the Cape Town University of Technology (CPUT) where he started his first entrepreneurial venture in 2012, Indalo Décor.

Indalo Décor morphed from an interior and industrial design company to an artisanal crafts and accessories business.

He decided to use wood to make clutches, tote bags and backpacks - creating a name from himself in the industry during his debut at the Design Indaba.

Gubeka has now parted ways with Indalo Décor as it takes a new direction, and has re-entered the market with his brand Inga Atelier.

He explains that Inga Atelier specialises in fashion tech, combing aesthetic appeal with functionality and convenience.

Things can't just look good anymore, they need to serve more of a purpose.

Inga Atelier is in the process of developing a range of totes and bags that wirelessly charge cellphones and laptops.

Designers need to change things because things are not waiting for us to change.

People are using tech everyday and it's about time that we take it to another level.

Inga Atelier will be showing the Dubai Leather Fair in February 2018 and Japan Fashion Fair in October next year.
