Six men arrested in relation to several deadly shootings in the Marikana informal settlement are apparently threatening to sue police for wrongful arrest.

According to a report in The Times, the group who were paraded on social media, were released without charge after being forced to lie on the ground for three hours while Police Minister Fikile Mbalula arrived.

It has been established by the paper that the family were transporting a coffin containing a dead relative to his funeral in the Eastern Cape when they were apprehended.

Talk radio producer Jonathan Fairbairn shared his spin on the saga, adding a new word to the 'Oxford Fairbairn Dictionary'.
