Trade union Solidarity says it has reached a deadlock in wage negotiations with Mango Airlines, leading to the current strike.
The airline's flight crew are have downed tools and are demanding an 8.5% salary increase.
The union's Deon Reyneke says they are hoping for a revised offer.

The reason why we are demanding 8.5% is the fact that Mango is paying pilots between 23% and 40% less than the current market in South Africa.— Deon Reyneke, Solidarity deputy general secretary
