'Zero chance Zuma will appear in court before ANC's elective conference'

It is unlikely that the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) will decide on whether or not to prosecute President Jacob Zuma before ANC's December elective conference.

This is according to Netwerk24 editor Adriaan Basson, who says NPA boss Shaun Abrahams will take much longer.

Last week, the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA) reaffirmed the High Court finding that dropping criminal charges against Zuma in 2009 decision was irrational.

It's a 0% chance.

Zuma's lawyers want to make fresh representations to the NPA on why he should not be prosecuted.

We can't see Shaun Abrahams making a decision on Zuma's new round of representations before December.

The NPA is expected to inform Zuma’s legal team whether he will consider new representations from him.
