Sassa says cards will be fully functional post expiry date

South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) spokesperson, Paseka Letsatsi says that Sassa cards which are expiring in December 2017 will be fully functional beyond that period.

He says an official communique will be sent to all 17 million Sassa beneficiaries as soon as everything regarding the payment system has been put in place which he believes it will be in 2018.

We can safely say to all 17 million beneficiaries of social grants, do not worry your cards will definitely operate post December 2017.

We have met all the stake holders and we have come to a conclusion that the cards will be operational post the expiry date.
