Bongumusa Makhatini has been appointed chairperson.

Potgieter-Gqubule says the interim board has started a process to have road shows and public input on the editorial policy, and lists some of the responsibilities that lie ahead.

She adds that the first step would be to have a board induction.

Of course, the incoming board will have to build on the foundation of the interim board, issues around getting the finances of the SABC sorted out, questions of staff morale, issues of independent editorial policy which we started as well as making sure governance issues are addressed.
