Computer science expertise is critical for the future and local coding companies are empowering the young and old with coding skills.

Code Space Academy in Cape Town runs a part-time course for professionals who wish to pursue a career in the tech industry.

Code Space program lead Tegan Crous explains that while coding entails web and software development, it also helps with overall problem-solving.

Code Space hosts instructor-led classes in the evenings over four weeks for beginners and intermediary phases.

At the same time, Kids Who Code is an organisation teaching children who are the future coding talent of South Africa.

Co-founder Thulani Matyeni taught himself how to code in his spare time and is passing on his passion to youth.

The purpose is to make sure that there are enough programmers in South Africa because everything is going didgital and is about technology.

Kids Who Code provides one-on-one home-schooling and donors are encouraged to sponsor a child from underprivileged communities.
