Hendrick "Helicopter Man" Chebanga shows off his lifesize Saps replica chopper

Hendrick Chebanga has earned himself the nickname "helicopter man" after his creation of a South African Police Services (Saps) replica helicopter using his bare hands.

Speaking to 702 host, Azania Mosaka, Chebanga said he used corrugated iron sheets and other scrap materials from recycling sites to create his now popular replica police.

Chebanga was born in Zimbabwe and had the ambition of becoming an engineer but was unable to pursue his studies because of a lack of finances. He says he built his helicopter to prove his abilities. Chebanga adds that he is raising funds to purchase an engine that enable his handcrafted helicopter to fly.

He says he's now working on completing his life-sized Jeep model and makes small toy cars which he sells on the side of the road to make an income.
