Motlatsi's statement on claims of Ramaphosa removal calculated - Karima Brown

On Thursday, political analyst Karima Brown spoke to former trade unionist and NUM founding member James Motlatsi about his belief that the Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is next to be axed from the Cabinet.

Earlier this week, Motlatsi made it public that President Jacob Zuma intends to use an intelligence report to justify the removal of Ramaphosa.

Motlatsi is a close confidante and personal friend of Ramaphosa.

Speaking to Brown, he said there have been longstanding rumors that the president does not trust Ramaphosa.

The president has already told his confidante that Cyril Ramaphosa is a spy for Western capital and he will release that information when time arrives.

James Motlatsi, former trade unionist and NUM founding member

I am saying to the president come out with that information publicly because I know Cyril being a citizen of South Africa, being a leader in his own right.

Brown suggests the public statement is a calculated move and my assist Ramaphosa's campaign.

I think what the aim of Mr Motlatsi going public is, is to lift what they call the cloud that President Jacob Zuma has had hanging over Cyril Ramphosa's head.

Karima Brown, political analyst

I think the Cyril Ramaphosa campaign made a calculated decision about how to go for this. I think it is rather smart of them to push this in the open.

Karima Brown, political analyst

The problem with President Jacob Zuma is he speaks loose and fast about intelligence reports.
