The #BlackMonday protesters vow to hold bigger march later this year - reporter

Lobby group, Afriforum has distanced itself from images circulating on social media of the old South African flag being worn proudly at Monday's Black Monday protest.

The #BlackMonday Protest were protests against farm killings across the country.

Reporter at EWN, Mia Lindeque has been covering the protests. She says AfriForum and other organisers have distanced itself from the old South African flag saying that this is not the message they intend to send out and instead it is about farmers and how government isn't doing enough to protect them.

When I spoke to some to the youth wing at the Voortrekker Monument they said to me today's march is nothing compared to what they are still going to organise later in the year.

Lindeque says AfriForum said it has no control of the gatherers, as the marches were organised and mobilised by community members across various parts of the country.

Three people were injured after a truck crashed into a group protesting on the N4 highway between Hendrina and Middleburg in Mpumalanga reports Lindeque.

She goes on to say it is yet unclear whether the injured were inside or outside of the vehicle when it crashed and that police are investigating the matter.
