‘It’s not us, it’s the economy’ - Sars explains the R50 billion shortfall

Randall Carolissen, Sars

Sars says it has been unfairly blamed for the R50 billion tax revenue shortfall.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Sars Group Executive for Research Randall Carolissen.

Carolissen said that slow economic growth is mainly to blame.

He further blamed regulatory and political uncertainty, which creates a difficult investor climate, with private sector investments in retreat.
