Opinion: You cannot fight rape and sexual abuse with silence
This week the African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng placed the Emfuleni Municipality mayor Simon Mofokeng on special leave amid allegations of sexual abuse.
Mofokeng has been accused of sexually grooming a 14-year-old girl.
Last month South African Football Association (Safa) boss Danny Jordaan was accused of rape and remains silent on the matter.
Stephen Grootes once again questions the organisations associated with these men, and asks where the outrage is.
Where is the outrage from our society, where is the outrage from the ANC around both Mofokeng and Jordaan?Stephen Grootes, 702 anchor
Instead of the action that you are seeing in the United States, the action that could prevent more women from being raped and attacked here, we are just met with silence and you cannot fight rape and sexual abuse with silence.Stephen Grootes, 702 anchor
