Fun weekend spoiled by contaminated food

A day of fun and festivities at the Cape Town International Kite festival was marred by people falling sick from alleged food poisoning.

The Cape Town International Kite festival is an annual event organised by the Cape Mental Health.

Kirsten Keun, a CapeTalk listener who fell sick over the weekend explained the unfortunate incident and appreciated the support he received from the Cape Mental Health.

I was ill to a point where my wife had to rush me to hospital on Sunday night. I was experiencing difficulties in breathing and keeping composed, I had severe vomiting and severe diarrhoea - I was very ill.

She says she appreciates that everyone affected has been very gracious to Cape Mental Health.

I wan t to assure everyone that we take this very seriously that we are full cooperating with the city of Cape Town to get to the root of the matter and that we will do everything in our power to prevent something like this from happening again.
