Ranjeni Munusamy believes President Jacob Zuma may have begun his farewell tour

As efforts by the State Security Agency and Sars to stop Jacques Pauw's new book The President's Keepers, have shown, there's very little doubt that President Jacob Zuma is under extreme political pressure says Afternoon Drive host Bongani Bingwa.

He adds that weekend reports have suggested that the efforts to go nuclear are being ramped up. At the same time, he has offered a meek attempt to heal the rift with alliance partners Cosatu and the SACP.

Associate Editor at Tiso Blackstar (Times Media) Ranjeni Munusamy says President Zuma doesn't seem to believe he's in a corner yet and thinks he can still maneuver.

He seems to be in an altered state of reality where he is still not accepting how things are and he still overestimates his influence and power.

Munusamy says Zuma's response to questions in Parliament last week depict how he has a complete alternative perception of reality.

On Sunday, President Zuma gave a keynote address at the Oliver Tambo centenary lecturer in Kagiso, Johannesburg where he made some remarks showing his continued commitment to nuclear. Munusamy explains that the good thing about that speech was that he was bidding farewell.

I think this is the start of his farewell tour. He was basically saying he is going in December.
