Qedani Mahlangu still MIA in UK stalling subpoena to Life Esidimeni Arbitration

The Life Esidimeni Arbitration hearings have resumed with more testimonies from families who have lost their loved ones.

About 141 psychiatric patients lost their lives after the Gauteng Health Department moved them into unlawful NGO's.

EWN reporter, Masego Rahlaga says retired deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke said a couple of time that these hearings will not end until the three people responsible have testified. He named suspended director of the mental health review board, Dr Makgabo Manamela, suspended head of the department Dr Barney Selebano and former Gauteng Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu.

It was mentioned that Dr Selebano has been subpoenaed but he is challenging the subpoena through the High Court.

This is a clear indication that he doesn't want to come to the hearings to give evidence.

Manamela, on the other hand, has been served with subpoena but has not challenged it to come and testify on 20 November.

Qedani Mahlangu's address in the UK is proving hard to locate in order to serve her with the subpoena.

At the moment they just know she is in England, the don't know where she stays exactly. England is big and her lawyers are clearly not forthcoming with her address.

At the moment it is a cat and rat race to get a testimony from Qedani Mahlangu.
