Duane Vermeulen's return to the Springboks won't be enough to help the squad recover, says rugby commentator John Goliath.
The experienced loose forward will join the Springbok end of year tour in Paris, stepping in to replace injured Coenie Oosthuizen.
This comes after Saturday’s record 38-3 thrashing by Ireland.
Vermeulen will join the squad at the base in Paris ahead of the game against France on Saturday 18 November.
Goliath says that the Sprinboks could end up on a 'nightmare tour'.
It's probably a replacement that the Boks need at this point. It was a horror show on Saturday night.— John Goliath, KweséESPN Rugby Editor
It was one of the worst performances I've seen the Boks dish out. They were lackluster.— John Goliath, KweséESPN Rugby Editor
He says that while Vermeulen is experienced, his replacement will not resolve the deeper issues facing the squad.
Goliath mentions coaching staff, selection strategy and game plans as some of the challenges facing the Bokke.
There's just too many things wrong at this point.— John Goliath, KweséESPN Rugby Editor
