The Medicines Control Council has briefed Parliament on its framework for medicinal cannabis.

The Medicines Control Council says that strong enforcement will be required if cannabis is legalised for medicinal and research purposes in South Africa.

The Council briefed Parliament on its framework for medicinal cannabis access in the country.

Law enforcement officer at the Medical Controls Council, Griffith Molewa, says cannabis should be regulated just like any other schedule six medicine.

Griffith Molewa, Law Enforcement officer at the Medical Controls Council
