13 things you may not know about Cape Town Idols contestant, Paxton Fielies!

We got to chat to Paxton Fielies, the only Capetonian representing us in the upcoming Idols finale happening this Sunday.

This Bishop Lavis local is just 17-years-old, the youngest contestant on season 13 of Idols. This past week we were excited to announce that Paxton will take to the stage as part of the lineup for #Huawei KDay!

We put a few questions to the rising star:

Kfm: Tell us a little bit more about you behind the scenes.

PF: I'm from Bishop Lavis, Cape Town. In my free time, I read books, eat bananas, drink loads of coffee and listen to music. I love Italian cuisine, so all things pizza, pasta and lasagne! My fave colour is grey and my fave movie of all time would have to be "Frozen" or "Titanic" (mainly for Leonardo DiCaprio 😏😂).

Kfm: Are you a heels or sneakers girl?

PF: Sneakers!

Kfm: The question everyone debates, do you prefer burgers or pizza?

PF: Definitely pizza!

Kfm: Books or series?

PF: Books for sure.

Kfm: Winter or summer?

PF: Definitely the Cape winter.

Kfm: Ocean or mountain?

PF: Ocean.

Kfm: What has been your favourite moment on Idols so far?

PF: My favourite moment would have to be celebrating my birthday on a live show.

Kfm: And your toughest?

PF: It would have to with the first live show! I really had to adapt to singing on a stage, and getting into character and performing.

Kfm: What is the greatest piece of advice you’ve received during the competition?

PF: The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Kfm: We tend to agree with that one! But what keeps you going, what keeps you motivated on a day-to-day basis?

PF: My mom. She motivates me to do better and to be committed to bettering myself every day.

Kfm: On a lighter note... tell us... do you have a celebrity crush?

PF: I do! I absolutely love Drake!

Kfm: Now, back to those dreams. If you could perform anywhere, where would it be?

PF: I would LOVE to perform at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Kfm: Finally, do you have any advice for other young, up and coming artists from Bishop Lavis?

PF: It's a quote by Biggie Smalls, "Stay far from timid, only make moves when your heart's in it, and live the phrase, the sky's the limit".

We are behind you all the way and wish you all the best, Paxton! We know you've got this and are so proud of you! We can't wait to see you set the stage alight at #HuaweiKDay!
