Tendai Biti, former Zimbabwean finance minister, has condemned the envoys from South Africa sent to Zimbabwe after the military took control of the country plunging the nation into a fresh crisis.
Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has met with the envoys sent by President Jacob Zuma in his role as Southern African Development Community (SADC) chairman.
Biti says the SA envoys are involved in "informal conduct".
They are making informal conduct, if the SADC meets on Saturday, they must make it formal then be given a mandate to find a lasting solution.— Tendai Biti, Former Zimbabwe Finance Minister
Asked if he thinks Mugabe will agree to a deal, Biti strongly disagreed with this.
That is speculation. Mugabe won’t go without a fight. This issue should go to the SADC so we can get a negotiating team to get a lasting solution.— Tendai Biti, Former Zimbabwe Finance Minister
