Humbled and excited by Gugus introduction, Co-Founder of Cheri Yase Kasi, Sunshine Shibambo carries on the conversation by talking about her two fist tattoos, which represent her fighting spirit.

Sunshine Shibambo, Co-Founder of Cheri Yase Kasi

After resigning from her position as an assistant brand manager for Flying Fish at SAB, Sunshine and her business partner Tumi Mohube began to combine a technical way of thinking that was fueled by never-ending ideas for their advertising agency.

The aim of Cheri Yase Kasi, which roughly translates to “Girl from the Township”, involves an unconventional way of tackling strategy, creativity, experiential events and marketing.

I contemplated starting a business when I was taking a break from corporate says Sunshine.

I was working with HHP, I was working with some celebrities and I thought, let me start this as a business but obviously ill-informed, ill-equipped and yeah lost tons of money, I had to depend on mom, had to kind of move back home in 2010.
