#LifeEsidimeni: Judge Moseneke rejects Manamela's bid to postpone testimony

Retired Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke has ordered former mental health director in Gauteng Doctor Makgabo Manamela to take the stand, despite having asked to postpone her testimony at the Esidimeni Arbitration hearings.

Manamela is a key figure in the Esidimeni project and was subpoenaed to testify on Monday.

Eyewitness News reporter Masego Rahlaga says the state attorney rejected the application saying it has no legal basis.

They are applying for a postponement to her giving testimony - but they brought an application that is incomplete.

She brought her lawyers to say she can't testify today because she has requested a laptop that she used to use when she was still under the employment of the Gauteng Health Department. However, she only asked for the laptop on Saturday 18 November.
