Specialist health and wellness company, Workforce Healthcare have found, through surveys and the work it does on employee wellness, that there is an increasing trend in employees struggling to cope with financial stress.
This leads to various physical as well as mental health problems in the workplace, says general manager of Workforce Healthcare, Nevania Naidoo.
Workforce Healthcare looks after 34 000 employees nationally by offering a range of employee wellness programmes, including emotional, psychological and financial support.

Naidoo says these financial problems cause a lot of absenteeism in the workplace as people are constantly looking for other avenues to earn extra money.
Sometimes they surf the internet looking for other things missing from their current job - an employee is in the workplace but not functioning at all, she explains

And Black Friday can be a temptation to get into more debt.
