[LISTEN] Legendary soccer commentator Cebo Manyaapelo dies

Commentators Tebogo Matima and Duane Dell’Oca shared their treasured memories of popular sports broadcaster, Cebo Manyaapelo.

Matima describes Cebo as a professional who pushed the boundaries. He was crazy about sports, says Matima.

You’d find it very difficult to find a bad word to describe him. As Quincy Jones said of Ray Charles, he didn’t have a single strand of bad hair on his head.

Tebogo Matima, sports commentator

Soccer commentator Duane Dell’Oca worked with Cebo for 30 years. He shared some personal experiences with the veteran sports broadcastor.

We shared the most incredible times, we saw the world together, we traveled to so many continents commentating football, normally South African football, and he's one of those incredible people...

Duane Dell’Oca, sports commentator

He was the kind of person that made you feel the game instead of listen to the game, says Dell’Oca.
